Scam type
Bank, KYC and UPI fraud
The script is built to get one of three things: your OTP, your UPI PIN, or your phone number moved to a SIM the scammer holds. With any of them the money leaves quickly. Real banks never ask you to share an OTP, and a UPI PIN is only ever entered to pay, never to receive.
How to recognise it
- A call or message saying your account or KYC will be blocked
- A QR code or request you must approve to receive money
- Your phone suddenly shows no signal where it usually works
